My microwave turned on by itself. It happened around 4:30 in the morning, can a ghost do that?

Ghosts have been known to try and communicate with us by using appliances, usually tvs or radios, since they're fairly easy to manipulate; all it takes is the push of a button to turn them on or off, and messages should be easier to communicate.
I did some research on microwave ovens and in your case I don't think this has any connectiion with the paranormal.
Apparently microwaves can have the problem of turning themselves on. It's a glitch in the mother board. Most of the ovens are about a year old or so when this starts to happen.
There are supposed to be precautions in place to keep a micro from catching fire when it's run too long or empty, though they still get extremely hot if this happens.
This is still a bit unnerving, as far as I'm concerned anyway. Until you can get the micro serviced I would recommend keeping it unplugged when not in use.
